I bought an album at the Borders store
I loved the Beatles and I wanted more
I played the first record and every song was fine
But then, without warning -- Revolution Number Nine

I always thought that all their songs were great
Til I heard this gem from 1968
I didn't need to hear John and Yoko grunt and whine
Now I've been subjected to -- Revolution Number Nine

It had a train conductor, soccer fans as well
Then I heard "Take this brother, may it serve you well"
It sucked hard like avant garde, I don't care what people think
I held my ears, I can't believe...  "How much it stinks!"

This so-called song was full of pops and squeaks
At least they drowned out Yoko Ono's shrieks
I had to smoke a doobie and drink a jug of wine
